The Road Back Foundation provides information about and advocacy for antibiotic treatment for rheumatic diseases.

Background

It is occasionally brought to the attention of the Road Back Foundation that some of the research cited in the STUDIES area of the website is viewed as not being current.  The reason for the historical status of those studies is that the medications generally used for antibiotic protocols are out-of-patent and provide little to no financial incentives for further investigation.  The older studies are listed on the website as they are clinically important and proved that the treatment is safe and effective. The Road Back Foundation additionally lists the latest international references to support the efficacy of antibiotic therapy for treating rheumatic disease.  It is the hope of RBF that the great popularity of the website and successes reported will re-invigorate funding and interest in new research for this important treatment option.
