Migrating Mycoplasmas

In a paper on genetic diversity among mycoplasmas cultured from cattle, agricultural researchers in Camden, Australia, have shown that a bovine strain of the organism is capable of migrating to, and multiplying within, different tissue sites within a single animal and among different animals within a herd. The mycoplasmas were isolated from cattle in Australia, Germany, Portugal, Nigeria and France following outbreaks of polyarthritis, mastitis and spontaneous abortion.
