Armen’s Story—A Golfer’s Tip Changed His Life
In late 1997 a professional golfer that I’d known since I was a teenager saw me hunched over and limping. I was 39 years old and had been fighting psoriatic arthritis for more than 5 years. He asked what was wrong with me. I told him and he said “Murph has got the same thing and he’s cured.” Professional golfer Bob Murphy was sitting at a table about 30 feet away with his wife. Bob told me his story about how he had been out of golf until he found out about Road Back and that he was actively competing again with no pain.
Greg’s Story—From Struggling with Socks to Living Pain-Free
I came to this site in desperation in January 2016. I was about 10 months into the most intense flare that had me struggling to put on my socks and in constant pain from back, neck, foot, fingers and hips. At 41yrs old I had lived with PsA (with no inflammatory markers) for 4 years and had tried a variety of DMARDS unsuccessfully.
Vincent’s Story—Finding Relief After Failed Conventional Treatments
My story starts in December of 2007, when I was a physically active 63 year old male. I did 3 miles on the treadmill and played golf several days a week. In August of 1999 I had a spinal fusion operation, but that healed fine and did not limit any activity. Also at that time I had a hospital acquired Staph infection that required a Pic line and 40 days of twice daily antibiotic. It is only speculation, but the Staph and subsequent antibiotic may have laid the groundwork for my autoimmune disease.
HW’s Story—From Struggling with Door Knobs to Feeling Strong Again
I began having pain in my hands and feet, several years ago, that appeared overnight. I’m in my thirties and had been a professional athlete and was active. I attributed my pains to the violent sport that I had participated in. All at once, my symptoms went away, but returned a year later with a small patch of psoriasis.

I think this story section is a wonderful idea- I found the life stories in Henry Scammell’s book tremendously inspiring and comforting, and read them over and over during my first months on the antibiotic protocol. Then I became a “story” myself, and didn’t need them anymore! Anyway, here’s an attempt to tell mine. I hope it can be of some help to someone. — My story stretches back 28 years.
